The JPEG XR IP Core supporst the JPEG XR format, a new file type for continuous-tone still images, which conforms to the international standard still image compression coding system (JPEG XR image coding system Part 2: image coding specification (ISO/IEC 29199-2)) succeeding the JPEG and JPEG 2000 formats.
