The Low Drop-Out 80mA Regulator is a regulator circuit which has been designed to provide Three Modes Output: 1.V with a load current of up to 80mA. The output voltage can be also set to 1.9V or 2.0V.
The Regulator features an automatic feedback sensing option to maintain a constant regulated output voltage level. It has been designed to provide a stable output in both low-drop and high-drop operation, while maintaining minimum ripple on supply lines in the presence of large load current spikes inherent with switching loads, e.g. high-speed ADCs.
The Regulator has been designed to minimize the area, while allowing 5V tolerant feature using only standard 1.8V/3.3V devices. To achieve these goals, the S3REG8051V8T18 requires a 4.7F external ceramic capacitor.
The circuit can be scaled for a range of load currents and the output voltage level can be programmable.
For maximum flexibility, the user can adjust the regulated output voltage if the Regulator is placed on a different chip.
The Regulator is readily portable to other manufacturing processes or can be customised for specific customer requirements.
