12-Bit Low power successive-approximation ADC
The 12-Bit successive-approximation ADC is a general purpose Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) for low power applications. It is a charge redistribution successive-approximation type converter. Since the 12-Bit successive-approximation ADC contains only one comparator and no power hungry operational amplifiers, its power consumption is low. Furthermore, the ADC contains no circuits with static power consumption, making the power consumption of the ADC fully proportional to the sample-rate. This property makes the 12-Bit successive-approximation ADC ideally suitable for low duty-cycle sensor applications and other applications which benefit from a low power consumption. The single-ended signal input make the converter suitable for a broad range of applications.
